My highlights video of Colombia!
Ash Was Here 2016
Lovin’ the Caribbean Beach
Playa Blanca, a beach an hour away from Cartagena. I would recommend spending at least a night on the beach. There are plenty of accommodations to choose from and restaurants to eat at. Imagine the sound of waking up to the sound of the waves and the sight of hardly any tourists.
Cali – The World Capital of Salsa. This is the city to learn and polish your salsa moves. There are renowned salsa clubs and classes all over the city. Tin Tin Deo has the best salsa nights on Thursday. On 6th Avenue in San Antonio, you are spoilt for choice of bars and dance clubs during the week. Touch down, I had the best Saturday night ever in a club in Cali. Five taxis took us folks from The Colombia Home Hostel to a Menga nightclub. It was live. We were on it. VIP table for us with Colombian Beer on tap! The company was fab and I practiced my salsa with locals and new friends ‘til 5am! Also in Cali, look out for the amazing street performances.
Attractions in Cali besides Salsa:
- Cristo Rey (Christ King statue)
- Cerro de Las Cruces (Hill of the Three Crosses)
- San Antonio Church and Neighbourhood
- Go to the street in San Fernando where street venders sell Cali desserts and Cholado
Street Art in Colombia
Love. Peace. Art
Typical Colombian food. The iced drink is called Cholado. Very tasty!
Nature in Colombia
Cloud forest near Salento. Catch a jeep taxi from the village to this awe-struck reserve
An incredible end to my journey in South America.
